Business Support and Perks
The City of Cerritos prides itself in support the local business economy, whether it be supporting existing businesses or attracting new businesses. Due to its central location in the heart of the Los Angeles/Orange County metro center and convenient freeway access, Cerritos has become one of Southern California's premier commercial crossroads. While Cerritos’ central location has spurred its growth, innovation and leadership have sustained it. The City’s economic centers are focused on its commercial and industrial zones. Employment within the City is primarily located in five (5) districts: Los Cerritos Center, the Cerritos Auto Square, the Cerritos Towne Center, Plaza 183, and the Cerritos Industrial Park. Businesses found in these districts provide jobs in light manufacturing, general office, and commercial, retail, and automotive sales and service. Additionally, the City is supported by over twenty (20) neighborhood shopping centers. The City was founded as a low-/no- property tax city, and as such depends on sales tax revenue to support City services.
